Glorious Sun...

.....flower that is...
Out taking pic's of the falls in Almonte as they are tearing the living heck outta it. Making changes to better the hydro generators performance....cutting a huge channel to direct water to the new turbines lower in the river.
At this point its hugely scary, no water, just rock, and blast debris. Horns sound, foundations reverberate over and over. I work in a basement, so I don't even hear the horns warning of a blast...I just feel the sudden boom. Freaky!
Geez...Almonte's built on rock...imagine that!
So, after getting lots of pics of that sad site...I found this sunny face on my way back up the street.
Wish a wee bee had been handy, but heck, I'm not chasing down a bug....least of all, one that can sting me!....
Summer Sunshine, brillant!

As they Were ....

This time of year, there are so many different kinds of mushrooms growing almost everywhere you look in the woods.
And some seem to grow overnight!
I know enough to not pick them though. I don't know my local varieties well enough to choose the safe ones. There are many that'll make you sick or worse.... so, they stay where they are.... as they were.

Heritage Perth Water Tower

Its just.... big!

Colour!

Fall is such a beautiful season, albeit bitter sweet. It reminds us that the season of sleep is coming fast...and geez, I hope we don't get the kind of w!n{er we had last year!
It seems like I woke up Saturday am to the leaves suddenly on the way to new colours. Vivid like they've not been in years! Red's are glorious, copper, yellow, and all the in betweens (peachy orange's, still green in the middle)....yada yada yada.
Then you get to play with the pic's in the photoprogram on your comp.
This is some leaves turned copper and yellow, pulled down into the cool colour zone and turn it all purples and brilliant neons!
I loved the original, til I saw this...now the original pales by comparison.

Um... Ouch?

Geez.... eating fire....wow!
Hope he's got a good chapstick on!!!!

Trebuchet ...Let er rip!

Alrighty, not sure if I spelled it right.... and no, it's not a catapult.
Catapult simply springs the object up and over like a spoon.
Trebuchet swings and flings the thing, torque is crazy high and the object fliiiiiiies!
Put the camera on highspeed shutter, and got several as it let loose.
This was one that showed everything in motion....

including kids poised to run to find the brick they throw out there.

Yep...old fashioned games....
"Hey kids, come on over here and go catch that brick as I throw it...gotta get the aim down on the this thing before the next siege!""

lolol

Steady....Steady...Balance that Thing! ... and Shake that Other Thing!!!

Holy moly.....
She can move, and balance that really big knife on her head at the same time!
Love her outfit (hmmm...where can I get all that getup). She was demonstrating belly dancing and gypsy dancing for the kids at the Medieval Wknd.
