Getting caught up...

Why does it seem everything goes faster than me? Yet, never a chance to stop and get caught up on the things I want to do?
Ah well, still living, breathing, and functioning. Got some pic's uploaded tonight here. It's been awhile....and heading to the cottage this weekend. Hope to enjoy the colours up there too!
Happy Thanksgiving all!

Fascinating ....shroom?

No clue what this one is or is called. Just happened to spot it the same day out as the little red ones below. The sun kept shining on it, and fading too. Really cool!

Little Red Firecracker

The mushroom's are popping up all over the place out in the woods! These tiny red/orange ones were easy to spot against the dull brown of the leaves. But tiny, no bigger than a dime.

The Mighty Oak, the mighty acorn

The end of the leaves each year, also drops the beginnings of new trees too!
This was behind my house, in the 200 acres of the Wolf Grove we call home.

Golden Fields

Beside my house, big round bales, in the fading light of end of day.

Dirt Bike Fun!

My friend Dave coming out of the grass track at Calabogie. He's part of the Bytown Motorcross Association, and this track was an option he set up for the 20th Anniversary of the Calabogie Boogie.
He asked us to help with timing of the grass track runs.
We had a blast even just helping!!!
This is a composite of a 3 burst set of shots as he arrived at the finish. I think it's kinda cool!!

Sky on Fire

The sunset Monday, October 4th, 2010. Taken just around the corner from my home. The colours were changing by the second...got to this spot in time to capture it! Whew....
I love it.

Near......far....

A Golden tree along the fenceline. The roadside fence post in the foreground.

At Rest under a Red Blanket

A little cemetery in McDonald's Corners, St. Columbkill's.

Early Morning Peekaboo!

Started out on a fall drive for myself, a few hours of peace, and enjoying the glorious colours! My first stop, was 1 min down the road from my house! lol
What a lovely morning....

Here's Looking at You, Kid

So, a trip to the Nature Museum when it reopened was a hit this year! The kids had fun and we explored a lot of the sites, well..all of them I think.
This eyeball, up close and personal, was just...well...looking at me.
So I snapped a shot.
:)

Morning Delight

One bleary eyed early morning, woke up far too early, for no reason at all. Got out of bed and happened to look outside, to this...gorgeous ruby sun rising thru a soft focused sky.
Camera...camera....dammit! downstairs...
scamper down (as best as can on sleepy feet), grab it and head outside for best perspective.
Got it, with one eye open only!
Mosquito's having a heyday on my sudden appearance too.
sigh.
but got the picture! (ty to my friend who has told me that...you know who you are ;) )
and think I got a pretty good one too!

Look Ahead, or...

Behind? Took this one on the way home one day.
The road behind me married up with the road ahead.
I just liked it and was pleased that it worked out so well.

Last One First......May I Introduce.....

Such is the way of Blogging, the most recent photo posted is the latest. lol
Please say hello to Laurie-Anne, Becka and Michelle, 3 sisters who asked me to photograph them as an Easter gift for thier family.
I used Michelle's camera (a Nikon d3000) that she got for Christmas.
We spent some time indoors, then changed into something brighter and headed outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather!
The 'rents' were away for a few hours, and we took advantage (hehehehehe) I hear they were very pleased with the pics (we took abt 250 all told I think)

Eye's this way please??!!

Geeze...you'd think I could keep all of them looking my way, but sheesh....they have minds of thier own!

Pose please

After being inside for a bit, we changed up the clothes and headed out to the grey but bright spring day.
The girls were the colours, the landscape the setting. The dogs came for our walk too!
This one is already printed and framed at thier dad's workplace.
:)

Peekaboooooo!

Hehehehee....horsing around is much fun too...mucho in fact!

The Flowers of the Day.

What characters these 3 girls are!! I had so much fun, thank you for having me take your pics girls!

Spring Sunset Last Night

What was the reason I took this..... look below.

This was just after the sun faded. The picture below is only moments before..... Such a massive difference.

They call it the Golden Hour don't they??

hmmmmm maybe this is why?!

This is facing East, with the gorgeous 'golden light' shining on the still naked spring tree's from last nights 'dull as dirt' day. The sky is grey, the cedar's the only bright thing in the county....and then those lovely sun rays peeked, just before disappearing below the horizon behind me.

Thanks to the 'cloning tool' I got rid of the power lines too :)

It's Time

Thanks to my friend Michelle, and a need to learn her new camera (Nikon D3000), we hit the bustling town of Carleton Place this past Saturday for a few hours.
We wandered around the park and then more downtown, but stuck near the river and just snapped pics, trying different things to get a feel for the 'way' to take pics.
And among other things, a fresh look at ordinary things is always a suprise to discover, and that resulted in a bunch of new pics.
I've been busy as nuts can be crazy the last 3 months and I can't believe it's been that long since posting anything...but it has.
And a weekend home (finally) feels so good to recharge the batteries, find one's groove again and smile.
really smile.
So, there's a few here, as on Facebook. Hope you enjoy.

Earth Hour

We did our part, as I hope many many others did too.
Candlelight is so forgotten, the soothing sense of it too.

A Boathouse

Across the river, looks a tad forlorn, but hey....who knows what's just back a bit in there??
Was the start of a lovely few hours playing with camera's with a friend (she was learning her new camera)

Perspective is a funny thing

Remember being small and looking up, waaaaay up a building, that was only a generous one storey? This is one of those, but taken from abt 6" off the ground.
Prooving a point of perspective and I think it worked out alright.

A new look

Michelle, checking out the wall, yes, the wall (and the vines) for inspiration. Wild how getting out again with new eyes opens them again for me too.

Look up....look waaaaaaaay up!

Maybe not the tallest thing in the world, but tall enough for the day! Thanks Michelle, I'd not have stepped out into the street to take this if you weren't trying to get the same pic with your cam. Awesome!

Island in the Stream???

OKokokokokokok I know that's the name of a country song....but this little bit, near the beach yesterday, was just like a tiny island.
Hence.... Island...um..ya....in the ...(ok) river (not stream) sigh...hehehehehe
:)

Sunshine, a Friend and some smiles

made for a lovely day, thanks Michelle! Hope you're getting the hang of your new Nikon D3000. (I'm jealous....)lol

Peeking at the boathouse

From in the tunnels (see below) it looks different

A New Outlook

inspiration of being a little kid again sent me up the playstructure and into the tunnels there. They have peekaboo holes! How odd the world looks when you tunnel vision it...and capture it on the angles too. hehehehehe

Lean on ....

A big tree at the park, reaching for the water, or so it seems.

Rushing...everything rushing

This is only spring water coming down thru the river in Carleton Place, but man, there's lots of it.
